About Us
We opened our doors on August 17, 2010 in as more of an idea with good intentions than a well-thought-out business with a real plan and sufficient starting capital. We started completely and fully prepared with exactly one string dealership and 20-something instruments total, two thirds of which we knew, in practice, how to play. Early on, we did not specialize for the sake of filling the sales floor day one, which in retrospect may not have been the best call for the sake of growth, but business is a learning experience. |
Since our decision to shift focus to guitars and related instruments/gear, we've also learned that the experience is just as important as what is being sold. We believe it's just as necessary to be able to provide enough appropriate information to the beginner as it is to be able to talk shop with the seasoned player. We find it important to allow the customer to be comfortable here - allowing them to ask questions if need be, just pick up the instrument and play, or run in and out with their strings and be on their way – without the pressure a commission driven sales associate, or fear of judgment based on one's skill or capability. |
The notion of customer comfort extends past buying instruments and accessories. Don't like phone calls? Send us a text. Send us an email. Send us a private message on Facebook. And for those of you that have interest in instruction or services, we partner exclusively with Valentine Guitar Services to, a) provide a student specific lessons program that's goal-oriented with location, payment, and frequency options to fit your specific needs, and b) to provide services that keep your guitars and basses playing how YOU want them to.
Because we value the personalized experience we like to think we've successfully established, this does mean that we have no intentions of taking on additional employees for the foreseeable future. And while this may seem as a surefire way to overextend our personal resources, we feel it best to be solely responsible for what we have worked to establish, and we appreciate your patience in doing so.
